An Adventure in the Remote Highlands of Albania
Travel back in time to the remote highlands of Albania. Albanian travel is an adventure: the taxicab driver hiding his taxi sign just before the bordervans loaded with fish, produce, hay and peoplethe bus/boat of Lake Komani ferrying locals and animals to seemingly random locations with beautiful limestone cliffs and no buildings in sight. Friendly shepherds and farmers share fresh raw milk and tea in remote mountainous Valbona. Random and ubiquitous bunkers are relics of the Cold-War past, and there are signs of a new battle, which is environmental.
Patagonia: Land of Wind, Gauchos and Glaciers
We have always wanted to visit Punta Arenas and stand on the shores of the Strait of Magellan, to see the beautiful lake country of Bariloche, Argentina, to visit historic Chiloe Island located in the fjords of southern Chile, and to be awed by the snow-covered peaks of Torres del Paine National Park and both Gey Glacier and Perito Moreno Glacier descending out of the Andes Mountains. We will share our experiences in these places and more, while reviewing our December 2014 trip to southern Argentina and Chile.
Botswana and South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa, Zambia and Botswana Safaris captured in pictures, presented in movie and music. Travelers, Gary and Catherine Pederson, share their experiences in planning and engaging Africas people and wildlife.
Barcelona, Madrid and Andalusia:
Join Gary and Carol as they follow a modified Rick Steves itinerary from Barcelona through southern Spain and then to Madrid and surrounding area in the last days of the summer of 2014
Nicaragua by Motorcycle
Picking up hitch-hikers, taking back roads, no hotel reservations, no real destination in mind. A story of adventure.
